Message from Cereta McDonald, Children’s Ministries Director

The Department of Children’s Ministries of the Cayman Islands Conference is organized to co-ordinate programs in the local churches to nurture children into a loving serving relationship with Jesus and to train them for useful service.
This ministry aims to develop the faith of children whose ages range from birth to 14 years. It strives to provide multiple ministries that will lead children to Jesus and disciple them in their daily walk with Him.
Jesus’ great commission is:  “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”

Surely, this includes making disciples of children and leading them to make a personal commitment to Jesus.  This is our goal and objective for our children!

The Sabbath School Department of the Cayman Islands Conference strives to communicate the Good News of Jesus with objectives to win, to nurture, and train our member for useful service in the church.

These objectives of the Sabbath School are reached through the following four areas of emphasis.
  • Faith
To make the saving gospel of Jesus Christ central in all Sabbath School plans.  To foster spiritual growth through regular study of the Word of God and sharing the faith with others.   To cultivate a positive attitude of prayer and devotion among all members.
  • Fellowship
To foster Christian fellowship in every aspect of the Sabbath School; to work together to recruit new members and to restore inactive members to regular attendance and active participation in the church.
  • Community
Reaching out to the community to attract non-members to the Sabbath School and Church.  To give each member an opportunity to use their spiritual gifts for soul winning and active service in the church.
  • World Mission
To maintain a clear vision of the global mission of the church and supporting it by systematic giving of offerings and the promulgation of the gospel.
